Protecting Historic Hardwood Floors
Working in North Capitol Hill often means navigating tight driveways behind pre-1920 Queen Anne homes. For this backyard wedding, the homeowners were terrified about guests tracking mud onto their vintage hardwood floors to use the indoor bathroom. It had rained the night before, leaving the ground soft, and they needed a solution that matched the elegance of their black-tie reception without ruining the landscaping or the historic interior.
We carefully backed our 2-station luxury trailer down the narrow alley, placing it on protective mats to keep the turf intact. I hooked up the water supply and set the interior lighting to a soft, warm glow to match the evening vibe. The flushable toilets and running water meant guests stayed comfortable outside, and the main house remained pristine throughout the entire night.
Mateo's team parked that trailer with inches to spare and saved our floors from the mud.
